I love wedding days that marry tradition with a modern flair and Stephen and Sarah’s wedding day did just that. To honor Sarah’s culture they had a traditional Chinese tea ceremony before their wedding ceremony. In true Chinese tradition Stephen had to do whatever the bridesmaids requested of him in order to see his bride. Their request was push ups and lots of them! Stephen gladly did every single one in his suit and all to see his bride. Sarah donned a beautiful red traditional Chinese dress as they served both her and Stephen’s parents tea to honor them for everything they have done to raise them. I thought that was pretty special. After the tea we headed to the church for Sarah and Stephen to do a wardrobe change and just as I thought nothing could top her gorgeous red dress I saw her wedding gown. It was probably one of my favorite dresses of the year, a gorgeous full tulle wedding gown with a shear top covered in crystals, she looked absolutely stunning. Sarah floated down the isle to Stephen as her father gave her away. Their wedding ceremony was a beautiful picture of the Gospel through worship and testimony of Christ’s love for His Church. They shared many excerpts from Tim Keller’s book The Meaning of Marriage that was such an encouragement to my soul. After their first kiss as husband and wife we headed to Vanderbilt University, where they first met, to do some photos at their alma mater. Once they made their grand entrance at the University Club of Nashville they were greeted by all of their family and friends who made their special day complete. Sarah & Stephen I can’t thank you enough for allowing me to be apart of your big day, it was such a joy to document and a blessing to my soul to witness you two become husband and wife. I pray you enjoy these images for many years to come!
