That surreal moment when someone you watched grow through youth group starting as a freshman in high school calls you to say he’s graduating college and getting married. SO crazy and yet so cool at the same time. That’s the beauty of my profession, we get to document milestones and watch people grow before our eyes and it’s such an honor to capture these memories for Lorne & Mackenzie. The weather couldn’t quite decide what it wanted to do on the day of their engagement session, the sun would poke out from behind dark ominous clouds and a few showers would fall from the sky every now and then. An afternoon that we considered canceling because of the unpredictable weather ended up giving us one of the most beautiful rainbows I have ever seen. A phenomenal rainbow presented it’s self as we arrived at the downtown Pedestrian Bridge, perfect view and vivid colors. And just as I thought it couldn’t get any better a second rainbow appeared, that’s right…a DOUBLE RAINBOW! Ha! It reminded me that God used a rainbow to make a promise to His people in the Old Testament and how cool is it that in just a few short weeks Lorne & Mackenzie will be making a promise to one another in marriage. What a beautiful reminder of promise and hope. I loved my time with you two and can’t wait for your big day to arrive, enjoy a few of my favorites from your session!
